This is the letter I received from Celebrity Cruises in response to the Galaxy cruise story on CruiseCritic.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ms. X, and I am the Director of Loyalty and Direct Marketing Programs for Celebrity Cruises. We have very much enjoyed your dialogue(and of course your wonderful cruise review) on Cruise Critic, and it occurs to me that we might be able to do each other a favor.
It seems that you may still have a bit of a case of island fever (Irie mon), and might be tempted to step aboard another one of our cruise ships (let’s say the Mercury, for sake of example), and I know you can’t take too much time, so let’s assume seven days might be about right, and it seems as though you’d like to go fairly soon – so I’m thinking October 25th – out of Miami, Western Caribbean Itinerary, a nice suite for you and Kris, and since it does not appear that you have won the Powerball Jackpot as of this writing… I’m thinking FREE might be the right price – but only if you allow us to treat you to a few drinks and a nice meal in the Specialty Dining room as well. Did I mention your flights? We’ll pay for those too.
